LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) provides a free cross-platform alternative to programs like Fruityloops®. Create melodies and beats, synthesize sounds, or arrange samples into patterns with the Beat+Bassline-Editor, an easy-to-use Piano-Roll, and an FX mixer with 64 FX channels. Use multiple instrument and effect-plugins out of the box (including a Gameboy emulator for that classic 8-bit sound!) LMMS is compatible with many standards, such as SoundFont2, VST(i), LADSPA, and GUS Patches. You can also import MIDI and even old FLP (Fruityloops® Project) files!
